Costume Contest

  • August 17, 2011 10:27 pm

Inspired by last years dedication to the Monster/Halloween theme by Frank, Manny and Mimi we are having the first and hopefully continued costume contest for this years match. Details to follow  but I wanted to get the word out to those possibly interested so you could begin formulating your costumes.

Not sure exactly how it is going to work yet but somewhere along the lines of you need to declare your desire to be entered in the costume contest at sign up. You must be registered to shoot the match, you must actually shoot the match in your costume, it will be judged by the RO’s and Staff, (sucking up is permitted and encouraged) and there will be a prize involved (to be determined).

Lets have some fun!!!

Winners and Thanks

  • November 1, 2010 7:00 pm

QUICK VIDEO OF THE DIVISION WINNERS PRESENTATION AND RAFFLE WINNER

I really can’t say thank you enough to the staff, RO’s, and all the folks that gave up their free time to make this match possible. I get all the accolades and thanks which is cool and obviously makes you feel good but there is absolutely no way this match could happen without all the help I get from my friends and the shooting community. Plenty of folks busted their collective asses over the past few weeks and I am very appreciative.

There are many folks to thank but I have to say a special thank you to Jim Schoonmaker the Range Master, Mr. Fixit, and Co-Match Director. He and I started this thing 6 years ago and he has put in every bit as much work as I have over the last 4 Monster Matches. Jay Corn handled registration and was head stats dude. I couldn’t have done this without him. He implemented the online sign up, payment and squadding system that I think worked pretty well. Dave Jenkins volunteered his RV for the stats shack as well as working stats with Jay. Dave also was head of the kick ass awards we presented to the Division winners. He along with Dave Johnson put those together and if you didn’t see them….they were really a work of art. Better than I envisioned. Dan Bernard and his wife Terrisa went above and beyond to put the details and finishing touches on the ground. Terrisa was art director and Dan did what she told him to do. Dan also was the first one in the gate with me each day getting the crew ready to rock. Charles and EB, EB was the rafflator and Charles brought the most important ingredient for the crew…Yuengling!!! Lastly I’d like to thank Frank Garcia and Manny Bragg for shooting the match. It was cool to have some top named shooters attacking the zombie stages. Thanks to all ya’ll!!!

Staff day along with a couple shooters is in the books. All went pretty well and I think most stages were a hit. There is still room for walk ups on Sunday if you’re feeling jealous. Thanks to all that have supported and helped out to get us underway.

Some video of the action today to wet the whistle. Keep an eye on the website this weekend and next week, I’ll have a ton of multi-media coming your way. Have a safe weekend and watch out for Zombies

Two Weeks Out!!!

  • October 18, 2010 8:08 pm

Hey folks, back from Vegas and the Nationals and ready for two hectic weeks as we countdown to The Monster Match. I’m happy with the way the match is coming together and I think it will be one that nobody wants to miss. I had a lot of interest talking with folks at the Nationals so hopefully we’ll get some of them to come on down.

A little late today but the promised stage is posted on the Stages page.

Coming this week will be the schedule, range map and some other final info. If any of you are loal and bored this coming weekend we will be doing the main match build and could probably use some help. Let me know if you are interested in coming out so I can plan for the man (or woman) power. I don’t want folks standing around wasting their time and I plan to have a plan together.

As mentioned this year will be a trophy only match but we decided to do a little something different for the overall division winners. Limited, Open, Production. I think it is unique and the coolest trophy I’ve seen in 10 years of shooting. A little teaser.
