SHOOTERS BRIEFING

THESE POLICIES ARE JUST AS IMPORTANT AS THE RULES. YOU ARE EXPECTED TO READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL THE CONTENTS OF THIS MATCH PUBLICATION. THIS WILL SERVE AS YOUR SHOOTERS BRIEFING, THERE IS NO MEETING ON THE RANGE FOR YOU TO SKIP. BE AT YOUR ASSIGNED STAGE AT YOUR ASSIGNED TIME TO SHOOT. HAVE A SAFE AND FUN MATCH

COLD RANGE- Firearms will not be handled anywhere on the range except in designated safety areas or under the direct supervision of staff Range Officer. Safe areas are clearly marked. Handling firearms in parking areas is deemed unsafe gun handling and will result in a DQ.

SAFETY AREAS- Safety areas are located around the range to unbag and holster or unholster and bag guns, and also for dry fire practice and gun repair, etc. No ammunition may be handled in any safe area.

SET STEEL & TAPE TARGETS- Competitors are expected to stay together as a squad and are required to assist in taping targets, setting and painting steel. This is important to maintain efficiency for the match.

SCHEDULING- Competitors must compete for score according to the published match and squad schedule. A competitor who is not present at the scheduled time and date for any stage may not attempt that stage without the prior approval of the Match Director.

INSPECTION- Stage inspection will be allowed as long as that stage is currently empty. Please do not mess with or play with activators, moving targets or moving platforms.

COMPETITOR AGREEMENT- By competing in this event, you attest that you have read, you understand and you agree to comply with the match rules and regulations.

DRAWINGS & DIMENSIONS – Drawings and dimensions of the stage diagrams are approximate and may change due to safety or production considerations. There may be additional no shoots, vision barriers, or other changes. Inspect each stage carefully and listen to the squad briefing.

SHOOTER SERVICES – The Stats officers will be on the range to help with any administrative matters, resolve scoring errors and lost and found.

SPECTATORS – Everyone must wear eye protection while on the range and ear protection is strongly suggested. Climbing on berms is not allowed. Children must be under the direct supervision of a parent. There is a $1.00 fee for spectators, please check in at the main office.

Costume Contest

  • October 20, 2016 3:52 pm

The costume contest is back this year. 25 match point bonus for shooting in costume. You must shoot the whole match in costume and it must be a legit costume as judged by me. No polo shirt and visor claiming to be a golfer for example. Carry a couple clubs or a whole golf bag and you’re in business.

More will be explained in the virtual shooters brief next week but there will be a main stage for the RO’s to judge and also at least one mystery RO judging on their stage.

25 points is 1.2% of the match points so don’t feel obligated…it’s just a fun part of Monster. If, however you think you’re going to be close for the win you may want to consider…….

Stages coming along, shaping up to be another great one. I’m looking forward to it.
